Admission offers for candidates selected through the JEE (Advanced) 2026 mode of entry are now available on the admission portal. Selected candidates may download their offer letters from the Available Downloads section of the applicant dashboard. Go to portal

Notes

  1. GN (F) represents the General Merit cut-off for women applicants. Similarly, OBC-NCL (F), EWS (F), SC (F), and ST (F) represent women applicants in the respective categories.
  2. The cut-off for PwD candidates is based on CRL_PWD rank.
  3. The cut-off for GN, GN (F), and KM categories is based on CRL rank.

Important

Applicants who meet the cut-off above but have not received an offer letter in the Available Downloads section should immediately email the Assistant Registrar and the UG Office on or before 16 June 2026, enclosing the following documents:

  1. Bachelor of Science (Research) admission application form.
  2. JEE (Advanced) 2026 result card.

Requests received without the documents listed above will not be examined.

The in-person counselling session for candidates selected through the JEE (Advanced) mode of entry is scheduled at 09:00 AM on 30 June 2026 in the Faculty Hall, Main Building, IISc. The reporting time for registration at the venue is 07:45 AM.

Participation in the counselling session is mandatory for confirming admission to the Four-year Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme. Candidates who do not attend will not be considered for admission.

The deadline for submission of applications for admission to the Four-Year Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme for the academic year 2026–27 has been extended until 07 June 2026 (11:59 PM IST).

Updating JEE (Advanced) 2026 Rank Details on the Admission Portal

Applicants seeking admission to the Four-Year Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme through the JEE (Advanced) 2026 mode of entry are required to update their JEE (Advanced) rank details on the admission portal by 07 June 2026, the closing date for application submission. Applicants who have already submitted their applications may refer to the procedure available on the applicant dashboard of the admission portal for updating their National Entrance Examination results.

Application Submission and Updating of Entrance Exam Results

Candidates desirous of seeking admission to the four-year Bachelor of Science (Research) programme through JEE (Advanced), IAT, and other admission channels (including SAT/ACT for foreign nationals) are required to apply through the IISc admissions portal. Applicants are advised to complete the application submission process before the closure of the admissions portal and update their JEE (Advanced) and IAT results within three (03) days of the declaration of the respective examination results.

The online admission portal will open on Friday, 01 May 2026, and will remain open until Thursday, 04 June 2026.

·Important Update

Discontinuation of Materials Major (from AY 2026-27)

The Materials major under the BS (Research) programme will be discontinued with effect from the Academic Year 2026-27.

Students applying from the 2026-27 admission cycle onwards will not have the option to choose this major. This change does not affect students currently enrolled in the programme.
